How long have you been in business?
New Life Institute was founded in 1986 to provide professional, compassionate counseling services to all who might be in need, with special consideration for those who could not otherwise afford it.
What is your primary product or service?
New Life Institute provides individual, family and group counseling. We are able, because of our diversity of staff to work with children, adolescents, teens, adults and seniors. Our specialties are anger management; pre-marital and marital; loss or grief; testing and assessment; and psycho-spiritual support.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Our founder, Rev. Robert E. Breihan, was approached by a colleague to provide counseling services for members of the United Methodist Church. As Rev. Breihan began the development of New Life Institute he saw that there was a need for a faith-based approach to providing quality, professional mental health support for people of many economic circumstances.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
New Life Institute has available a staff of 18 mental health professionals who, in addition to their private practices, are devoted to offering quality professional services on a need-based sliding scale.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
New Life Institute currently has two satellite offices in addition to our central site with access to bus, and rail soon, services. A third and fourth satellites are being planned.

New Life Institute is located at 314 E. Highland Mall Blvd., Suite 305 which is on the north side of Highland Mall, 1 1/2 blocks east of Airport Blvd.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, credit (Mastercard and Visa), check, and insurance payments. Fees are determined through a need-based sliding scale.
Which areas do you service?
We try to service the Austin Metro Area. Our current satellite offices are located in Elgin and Burnet. The next two satellites are proposed for Westlake and Pflugerville.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
We are a 501.c.3 Not-For-Profit company. Our day to day manager is Rev. Ken F. Sellers, Jr., who is responsible to an Administrative Council, comprised of our founder and professional staff, and a Board of Directors.
What are your hours of operation?
We have staff who see clients from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm weekdays. Some staff are available for a few Saturday appointments. Our phones are answered in the office from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on workdays. Calls outside those hours are answered by our answering service who can reach a staff member for emergencies at any hour.
