Nonprofit rescue zoo with over 300 animals representing over 100 species. Situated on 15 acres, Austin Zoo has been rescuing and providing forever homes for its animals for over 25 years. Lions, tigers, bears, primates, exotic birds, reptiles and amphibians, wolves, foxes, many small mammals, kangaroo, plus many more including goats, sheep, deer, and llamas in the feeding area. Rawhide Rocket train ride, concession stand, and large Picnic Grove where guests can enjoy their own food and drink.

From the intersection of Highway 71 West and Highway 290 West in Southwest Austin, take Highway 290 West two-1/2 miles in the direction of Dripping Springs. Exit to the right on Circle Drive. Go down Circle Drive 1-1/2 miles and turn right onto Rawhide Trail which leads into the Zoo.

Cash, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover are accepted for admissions, gift shop, and train. Concession stand is cash only. ATM is located in gift shop.

What are your hours of operation?
We are open daily except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day from 9:30am to 6pm from February 1 - October 31 and from 9:30am to 5:30pm from November 1 - January 31.
