Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
I've been involved in the industry for over 30 years as I became an award winning speaker at the age of 12. I received my Masters in Corporate Communications 10 years ago and have been much more involved in the industry since then. However, I've been a voice and diction specialist for 20 years.
What is your primary product or service?
I am a corporate communications specialist. My primary product/service is helping people to be delicious. By that I mean, I teach people how to be better speakers (presentation/voice and diction/accent reduction). I also help people/businesses improve their relationships with employees and clients. I also teach cultural sensitivity training. I can help organizations improve their productivity and revenue through improved communication skills.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I became a speaker at the age of 12. I competed in speech tournaments and won numerous awards in speaking events. I went on to become a professional actor but always kept my hand in speaker training and lots and lots of voice and diction coaching. After I got my Masters degree I began teaching communications on the college level and continued to work with my corporate clients. 7 years ago I became known all over the world as The Red Sweater Lady because of my communications videos. Since that time, I've worked with clients everywhere via Skype.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The techniques I use are very unique and established through years and years of training and education and working with individual clients. I teach a voice and diction method of placement and "the Big 3" that is guaranteed to set you apart and make sure you are remembered, give killer presentations and build trust and instant rapport with clients and employees. I have a gift for immediately accessing the blocks in communication style and can easily asses how to fix these problems. I'm also a straight shooter and find a balance on focusing on what needs to be improved and celebrating what is already awesome! I have a program that I've created, Be Delicious, it really will make you be the delicious person, you know the one, that walks in the room and you can't take your eyes off them, when they speak, you could listen to them forever. THAT is what sets me apart.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I do not have a storefront. I go to my local clients in person and I teach clients outside of my local area via Skype.
What type of payments do you accept?
Paypal/Credit cards/Checks/Cash
Which areas do you service?
Everywhere in the world. However, I do in person training in the Austin, Texas area and other parts of Texas.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
ME!!
What are your hours of operation?
I schedule clients all different hours of all different days depending on their needs, time zones and locations.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That I made a difference in their life.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
We should not seek love but rather, break down the barriers that get in the way of giving and receiving it.
