How long have you been in business?
CLAYWORKS Studio/Gallery has been practicing the art and craft of architectural ceramics on East Sixth Street for over 35 years.
What is your primary product or service?
We are known for handmade clay sconces, address numbers, decorative tile, garden art, murals and more.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Neither John nor Chris Gray who established the studio in 1978has a formal background in ceramics or art. It started as a hobby for John and developed into a classic mom & pop business.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There are other potteries, but non locally that specialize in wall sconces and tiles.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We're on E. Sixth St., Austin only.

Clayworks is on E. Sixth St., 4 blocks east of I-35 on the south side of the street. 1209 E. Sixth St. There is parking around back off the alley.
